| 0:00.0 | Welcome in to another episode of the PFF College Football Show. |
| 0:14.7 | Max Chadwick alongside Dalton Wasserman here. |
| 0:17.7 | So last week, we did an all offense only mock draft, a full first round for the |
| 0:22.6 | 2026 NFL draft, but only offensive players were allowed to be selected. Dalton, now we're |
| 0:28.9 | going to do an all defense mock draft. So we're going to kick it off with the Raiders in just a |
| 0:33.6 | second, but they cannot take Fernando Mendoza with the number one overall pick. I think, again, it is different, and it's obviously not going to be any realistic at all to what we're actually going to see in the actual NFL draft. But I do think it's a fun exercise to not only get a kind of a different mock draft going for the people, but also, obviously, teams have needs on both sides of the ball. What might they target if they can only go on defense? Absolutely. I mean, you talk about needs on both sides of the ball. All 32 teams have needs on both sides of the ball, what might they target if they could only go on defense? |
| 0:54.5 | Absolutely. I mean, you talk about needs on both sides of the ball. All 32 teams have that, including the Raiders, right? We haven't dug much into extra rounds yet on this channel. But when you get into, you know, rounds two and beyond for the Raiders as well, they're going to be taking a lot of defensive players. They need to fix that side of the ball as well. So it's going to be a focus for every team. I think we've seen the last two years, the two teams that have won the Super Bowl, they had the best defense in football, and that was a primary reason that they did win a championship. So this side, and I'm excited for this class, especially, because this is honestly the more talented group, right, between the offensive sides, which we did previously, and then the defensive side. This obviously is a very deep group. It's a talented group. And honestly, not just at one position, it's really talented at all three levels. Oh, I think it's probably a defensive heavy draft. So it's going to be fun to get a lot of these guys taken here in this mock draft. I want to remind people right now, we are actually pre-recording this because I will be taking a trip to Iceland. By the time you're watching this, I'll probably be getting right back from Iceland, honestly. But so because of that, we're recording this before free agency starts. So there might be a couple times for Dalton and I say, well, this guy's a free agent, this guy's a free agent. By the time you watch this, they're most likely going to be signed to their original team or a new team too. So it might be a couple of things that are a little bit outdated, but most of it should remain okay as well. And I still think a lot of the team needs for a lot of these teams will kind of remain similar after free agency too. But I just want to put that out there right now. Just a caveat that we are pre-recording this before free agent gets gets going on Monday too. |
| 2:21.6 | Dolan's pull up the beautiful PFF mock draft simulator right now, which by the way, you can get for 25% off when you use the promo code PFF CFB 25 and you get access to the same |
| 2:28.4 | data grades and analytics that every NFL and college football team uses. |
| 2:31.8 | And you get access to, of course, the mock draft simulator, |
| 2:40.2 | fantasy football tools, and betting tools right now. So Dalton, you have now the number one overall pick in the draft. And like I said before, Fernando Mendoza cannot be the number one pick |
| 2:45.9 | to the Raiders, which has been the number one pick in pretty much every single mock draft you |
| 2:49.1 | ever read. So with Mendoza off the table here, who will Las Vegas go with the number one overall pick? |
| 2:55.8 | This is interesting because you're talking about at points here, |
| 2:58.4 | especially for the Raiders who have needs basically all over their defense |
| 3:01.6 | or losing a lot of starters from what was already a not very good defense last year in the last couple of years. |
| 3:06.6 | This comes down to, |
| 3:07.7 | if we're going with just probably the hottest name and the guy that some people think have |
| 3:13.0 | the highest ceiling, it might be the first defensive player on the board there, Arvel Reese. I think |
| 3:17.7 | it would be either him or I would really think about Caleb Downs. Again, I know there is the position |
| 3:22.5 | the positional value argument. but I, you know, |
| 3:26.1 | that's the tough part. I think right now, I think you could argue Downs is the best football player |
