Welcome in to another episode of the PFF College Football Show, Max Chadwick alongside Dalton Wasserman here with our top 10 edge rushers in the

0:23.7

2026 NFL draft. Daltons are a pretty decent group of edge rushers that we've got in this class.

0:30.4

A couple guys that might be top five picks and David Bailey, Rubin Bain Jr. By the way, we are not

0:34.6

including Arvel Reese in this episode. He will be included in our linebackers episode. Honestly, after the first two guys, though, I found it was a pretty wide open list. It's wide open as far as the order of it, but no less talented. I think you could argue that edge defender is the deepest position group in this entire draft. This is a really good draft to build out your defensive line in general, but especially on the edges,

0:54.6

depending on what you're looking for. There's a lot of different players, a lot of really good pass ruptures. You talk about a lot of really good run defenders, guys with size off of the edge. It really depends on what defense you're running and what type of player you're looking for. But there's something for everybody, I think, in this edge class, and I think value even well beyond this top 10 that we're going to do today.

All right, Dalton, give me your 10 through 6 for this edge class.

1:29.2

10 through 6 for me. Number 10, Gabe Accus from Illinois. Number 9 is Derek Moore from Michigan.

1:35.5

Number 8, Keldrick Falk from Auburn. Number 7 is Malachi Lawrence from UCF. And number 6, I have

1:41.5

Cassius Howell from Texas A&M. My number 10 through six, a couple different names I have actually in my top 10.

1:48.0

At number 10, R. Mason Thomas from Oklahoma.

1:50.6

Number nine, Cassius Howell from Texas A&M.

1:54.0

Number eight, Keldrick Falk from Auburn, number seven, Zion Young from Missouri.

2:00.7

And then number six, I have Derek Moore, actually, from Michigan. Dalton, let's start off with the guys that were on your list, that were not on my list. Start off with Gabe Accus, you're number 10 edge rusher in this class. High effort, versatile player who can play all across the line of scrimmage. He's got reps, obviously, as a wide- a stand-up outside linebacker all the way inside to a head-up zero technique over the center. I think he's just one of those guys who gives you a ton of effort, both in the run game and as a pass rusher. He's got versatility. He's strong. His lower body is strong in the run game. He's really good at stacking and shedding defenders, especially when he is head up. I think he's a player who maybe doesn't have the highest ceiling in this draft, but he's going to be a really nice starting piece who can fit into a lot of different fronts in a versatile defense. I think when you look at the appeal of Accus, there's a really good floor to him. He's got short area quickness in the run game. His hand usage is really good. I think for me, the downside for him, you're not going to get a ton of Twitch. You're not going to get the most explosive athlete, the most explosive getoff off the ball. I don't think his first step off the edge is as elite as some of these quicker edge rushers that we have on this list. And he's just an OK tackler. I think there's times when he's a little bit reckless. He needs to break down and tackle a little better. I'm probably going to say that about three or four guys on this list. But Accus, I think to me, a solid football player, a solid day two pick that'll probably go somewhere between, say anywhere from number 40 to number 70 in the draft. And I think that's about right. I just think you're adding a good solid football player, never going to lead to the league in sacks or anything like that. There's going to be a handful of splash plays in the run game, but this is a good player to at least add to your rotation and possibly be an every down player for you in some different capacity. Yeah, he actually was named the Senior Bowl player of the week,

3:41.0

defensive player of the week by the Senior Bowl. So a really good week down there in Mobile. I like Gabe Accus. I had him a little bit lower on my list at Edge. I believe 14 out of 15 guys that I watched for this exercise. So I liked him. I do think he's an okay athlete overall. You mentioned before the first step. which is not as quick as you might like only a 64 run defense grade this past year at Illinois, too. But he was a really good pass rush or 90 pass rush grade over the last two years for the fighting align. So again, I like Gabe Accus. He's more of a late day two type of player, probably early day three type player for me. But I do like him enough in this edge class. I'll go to my

4:15.7

guy, Dalton, the next guy we're going to talk about right now. That is R Mason Thomas, the edge

4:19.7

rusher out of Oklahoma. Speaking of great pass rushers, man, Armes and Thomas is a phenomenal
