For January 8, 2006, Mindana, you are because it is morning somewhere for january 8th 2026 my name is bernie burns sitting right over there it's ashley burns this is i'll be honest guys we are unsure how to tackle today we've talked about

this a couple different times we actually started this recording a few different times. We actually talked to actually you and I talked about maybe just don't do an episode today just because ourselves. We don't have to do this. We don't, you know, we can just take a day off if we want to. We did. We've, but feel compelled to be here. Yeah, it's, um, it's probably going to probably going to be a short episode. And it's probably not going to be a fun episode, you know, uh, specifically if you're somehow unsure why, uh, we're sort of spinning our wheels mentally. It's, uh, there was a, a, uh, a U.S. citizen, a woman who was shot by immigration enforcement in Minneapolis yesterday.

Renee Good. And it's been a little bit of a shock, I think, to a lot of us that I keep going

through this where I'm like, this is it, right? Everyone can agree that this is not a thing that

should happen, that immigration enforcement should never result in anyone's

death. Like, it, immigration enforcement, sure, like, that's important, but it's not like

life or death important, right? And so when they're shooting American citizens, we can all

agree that that's, this is not something that we want happening, right? And so, and then to find that that's not universally agreed on can be a very frustrating time.

What I keep coming back to is it is this event, and this event is a crisis and horrifying and tragic and every other adjective you can think of

to describe it. To me, though, what's really got me today is the nonstop pace of these things.

It's just relentless. It is. Can't think of another word to say it. You wake up almost every morning

like exhausted by just the pace of things that are happening.
