Chapter 2.

To you, therefore, my son,

be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Now, this is another place where

sort of the modern Western definition of grace

doesn't work so well. Be strong

in the grace. Typical Protestant definition of grace is unmerited favor. Be strong in God

liking you. Yeah. God giving you things you don't deserve.

That doesn't make a lot of sense.

Right?

But if the grace of God is God acting through him, right?

Be strong in the grace of God, right?

Meaning don't try and be strong in your own strength,

but be strong in God's strength as he's acting in the world picking up on what he was

just saying which makes sense it's there's a therefore there right tag into what he just

said about the spirit whose St. Timothy is received of what I'm sorry what's the

therefore oh St. Paul uses therefore Significence is a therefore. Of what? I'm sorry? The therefore.

Oh, St. Paul uses therefore as a transitional statement in his epistles.
