So we'll go ahead and get started.

When we get started here in just a moment,

we are going to be starting St. Paul's second epistle to St. Timothy.

We're not going to have a big, long introduction this time,

because we had that at the beginning of First Timothy.

And it all still applies.

That's pretty much everything we said about First Timothy also applies to Second Timothy.

This is, this does what it says on the tin.

It's the second letter.

St. Paul wrote to St. Timothy. He's going to be also, I mean,

even going to be addressing a lot of the same themes. It's the same type of letter. It's a letter

from St. Paul to an individual person. It's in that mentorship relationship that St. Paul

has with St. Timothy preparing him for continued ministry. And once St. Paul has with St. Timothy preparing him for continued ministry and once St. Paul is gone,

because St. Paul's death is approaching, preparing St. Timothy to sort of step into some of the

roles that St. Paul has been playing as an apostle while he's been alive in some of the churches

that he has founded,

it's probably all we need to say in terms of introduction,

and then we can just sort of dive right into it, I think,
