Today we're going to talk about something that I have never discussed on the

podcast because it's a less common problem at least in my experience but I think it is

one that hopefully some of you out there can get some value from and that would be how to improve your sandy soil.

I've done a lot on improving clay, that's the one that I'm more familiar with, but sandy soils what we're talking about today.

Gardening and sandy soil.

It can be a great challenge because there's not a lot of inherent nutrition within that soil.

Water will drain through very quickly and it can be quite frustrating.

There are some advantages though to growing in sandy soil.

If you listen to the earlier episode this week on carrots, you'll know that most root crops

will do a lot better in a sandy loam

than they will do in a clay loam.
