0:18.6	Welcome to the Bible Study podcast. I'm your host, Chris Christensen. I've been saying for some time now that we're studying the kings of Israel and Judah. And of course, Judah is not a separate country yet, but if you hang on here, we're starting to wrap up David, we'll get into Solomon, and then we get two countries. So just be patient with me.
0:38.3	Today we're going to deal with two different issues.
0:40.2	The first one is the Gibionites avenged.
0:43.2	From 2 Samuel 21, during the reign of David, there was a famine for three successive years.
0:49.3	So David sought the face of the Lord.
0:51.2	The Lord said, it is on account of Saul and his blood-stained
0:54.7	house. It is because he put the Gibyanites to death. The king summoned the Gibbeanites
1:00.5	and spoke to them. Now, the Gibbeanites were not a part of Israel, but were survivors of the
1:06.1	Amarites. The Israel had sworn to spare them, but Saul and his zeal for Israel and Judah had tried to annihilate them.
1:13.8	David asked the Ghibionites, what shall I do for you? How shall I make atonement so that you will bless the Lord's inheritance?
1:22.1	The Gibbeanites answered him, we have no right to demand silver or gold from Saul or his family, nor do we have the right
1:29.6	to put anyone in Israel to death. What do you want me to do for you? David asked. They answer the
1:36.2	king, asked for the man who destroyed us and plotted against us so that we have been decimated
1:41.2	and have no place anywhere in Israel, let seven of his male descendants be
1:45.9	given to us to be killed and their bodies exposed before the Lord at Ghibeah of Saul,
1:51.9	the Lord's chosen one. So the king said, I will give them to you. The king spared Maphibisheth,
1:57.8	the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of the oath before the Lord
2:02.1	between David and Jonathan, son of Saul. But the king took Armani and Mephubesheth, the two sons of
