wrapping up David's story here in the next two chapters, well, this chapter and two more chapters.

And then we're going to go into the kingship of Solomon here as we transition from Second Samuel

into First Kings. But it's interesting in this particular chapter, 2 Samuel 22, is David's

Song of Praise. Now, David has quite a few songs that would be included in the book of Psalms,

but one of them gets included in 2nd Samuel. It's interesting that this particular song is

included here instead of in the songbook, which is really what Psalms is.

And so I would think there is some importance to it.

It goes like this.

David sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.

He said, the Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer.

My God is my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation.

He is my stronghold, my refuge, and my savior.

From violent people, you save me.

I called to the Lord who is worthy of praise and have been

saved from my enemies. The waves of death swirled about me. The torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
