Hello my friends I'm Jared Halverson this is unchaken and we are picking up right where we left off last week

last week was the book of Mormon's equivalent of Deuteronomy where you have

Moses on Mount Nebo blessing the house of Israel and giving them final words of encouragement before they

head into the promised land without him.

And in the Book of Mormon's equivalent of that, you see Father Lehi giving his final

father's blessings and words of exhortation to his posterity.

Last week we started with chapter 1 of 2nd Nephi, where Lehi was teaching and blessing

layman and Lemieux.

A rise from the dust, my sons, and be men, is what he told them and then in chapter two we saw Lehi

He teach Jacob and that was a sweet and sacred experience to talk about his words

Honestly it felt a little like we were intruding, eavesdropping on a conversation that was meant to be private and personal

between a tender parent and an over-anxious child.

And yet so many of us are tender parents and so many of us are anxious children and probably a combination of the two.

And if you've ever struggled with scrupulous

if you've ever dealt with toxic perfectionism if you've ever felt like you will

forever fall short of divine expectations then Jacob is your kindred spirit,

and the words that Lehi gave to him

are meant for you as well.

And so I hope they were helpful.

I hope last week gave you a glimpse into Jesus Christ in ways that perhaps you've

underestimated or underappreciated. That was a sacred experience and so if you
