There's a lot of learned along the way about myself. There's a lot I learned about weight loss in general. I would call myself a professional dieter before I lost all the weight. Why? Because I'd lost weight a lot of times, but I could never seem to keep it off. I was really good at dropping the number on the scale. I'm really good at it. If I wanted to drop 20 pounds, I could. Of course, I was miserable the whole time. I never actually enjoyed it. And then I always gained it back. Usually plus a little bit more. I remember one time I went on one diet. It's called New Directions. It was something. It was all the rage in the town I was living in, where you go on this ultra low calorie diet,

800 calories a day.

And all I could eat was shakes, puddings, and a soup.

And I never fantasized about food more than when I was doing that diet.

Oh, it was just sheer misery.

They actually would prescribe you appetite suppressants so that you could stay on it.

Now, did I lose weight on it?

Yeah, yeah, I did.

You know, when you're only eating 800 calories a day, you're going to.

You know, and you have to eat these particular shakes because if you're going to eat that few calories,

you have to make sure you're getting enough micronutrients as well.

And, um, but golly, I mean, talk about hunger, talk about inconvenience and talk about not actually learning how to be thin and how to keep weight off. That diet taught me nothing. It taught me
