The Ahmed Arbery trial, these are the three men that were convicted already of murdering this young black man.

Remember, he was jogging, and they chased him.

There were two vehicles involved.

The pickup trucks, they chased him down, literally stopped him, and a fight ensued.

And he was shot to death with a gunshot and with a shotgun.

And their defense was that they thought he was a burglar. And they had heard that there was a black guy in the neighborhood, at white neighborhood, who had gone into a construction site, which he did, but didn't steal anything.

So they thought they were in the right, even to the point where one of them videotaped the incident thinking this is going to prove that we in fact are in the

right so in state court they get convicted of murder two of them life imprisonment without

possibility of parole one life imprisonment with a possibility of parole now simultaneous with

that is a trial or was a trial for civil rights violations.

It's a federal crime.

And this is how the federal government got white perpetrators in civil rights cases in the 60s.

For example, you couldn't get a white man convicted of killing a black in the 60s.

No jury would ever convict a white man. So the feds came in and what they did is establish

these cases of federal civil rights violations. You took away this man's civil rights,
