The city of Los Angeles, which obviously I live in, has ordered parking enforcement and cops to immediately stop impounding vehicles that have all these unpaid parking tickets. Why?

Well, because first of all, it's expensive. If you get caught in the city of Los Angeles for

anything, there are assessments and there are excessive fees that run into hundreds of dollars.

And even though it kills us, right, to pay parking tickets, can you imagine what it does to someone

who is dirt poor? I mean, they just lose the car.

They lose their ability to even work.

And so the cars were impounded.

Well, not anymore.

The city of L.A. has ordered that the cops stop immediately impounding those vehicles.

And that's effective immediately.

And the towing authority for five or more unpaid parking

situations or citations will be suspended. And this was a ruling by a U.S. District Court who denied

a motion filed by the city to dismiss a lawsuit last summer by a woman who was legally parked,

but the car was impounded for unpaid tickets.

And the court said that she simply couldn't afford to pay the tickets.

She was out of work.

There was COVID.
