I'm John Datsu with my colleague Henry Sikalsky, the Executive Director of the Non-proliferation

policy education center.

Vladimir Putin has threatened to bomb the nuclear power reactors in Ukraine that maintain what is left of the

electricity grid to keep the population from freezing and in the dark after

sundown with winter coming on.

At the same time, Henry has learned that the grid is already at its margin,

so taking any of those plants offline now would mean it would collapse.

Therefore they're vulnerable. How would Russia strikes very carefully these

plans? Does it have enough information?

Does it have the right missiles?

Does it know what it's doing?

There is a report that China is involved.

How so, Henry?

Well, Mr. Salinsky has publicly stated that the Chinese are helping the Russians get

imagery to target the plants.

Now, I'll be honest, there's something a little lot about this

in that, I mean, the plants don't exactly move.

So I don't exactly know why he made this statement.

Maybe in some fashion, the Chinese are allowing their

imagery space-based systems to help the war effort for Russia.

If this is true, this is an eye opener for two reasons two reasons first it suggests that the Russian space

imagery system for military purposes is stretched thin and not where it needs to be.
