I'm John Bats with my colleague,

Anatol Leven of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft,

observing a recommendation by Malcolm McFall, Ambassador McFall.

Now it's stand for University, but previously the Ambassador to Russia for the Obama Administration,

making a recommendation of accelerating surging is the metaphor.

Diplomacy, an anticipation of a ceasefire and armistice, a resolution in Ukraine conflict,

which is increasingly dangerous because of the talk of nuclear weapons.

However, the fourth piece of the recommendation is about now and a conflict is apparent.

This is about the sanctions regime.

Sanctions have been visited upon Russia to the profound damage to the future of the economy

and all the young people and the marketplace in Moscow.

However, there's also the issue that Anatol has already raised about the dialogue with the global south,

India being the major country in the global south,

but Africa, the Middle East, South America,

most are many of these countries have stayed out of choosing sides in the conflict.

Anatol, your measure of sanctions regime and going to Brazil or going to South Africa,

the BRICS are going to India and telling them what they must do.

That is not work.

So what is it that the Biden administration needs to do to have a better dialogue with the global south

about the dangers of Ukraine?

Well, it really needs to listen to them, but what they have to say is not welcome in Washington
