I'm John Bachelor with Joseph Sternberg, a member of the editorial board of the Wall Street

Journal and the London Times has an alarming headline saying that the Prime Minister, Mr. Sonak, is called an emergency

meeting of the leaders of the major universities and colleges about anti-Semitism and anti-Semitic conduct on those campuses.

But more importantly is the politics of this and Joe guides me to Gerard Baker's column in the Wall Street Journal.

And what is, what Mr. Baker is speaking of, he's English, but he was the editor of the

Wall Street Journal.

He's very well informed of both sides of the story, the English side and the American side, is that the

politics is much more important because the anti-Semitic conduct and the double entendre is entered into the Parliament.

Do I read that correctly, Joe?

These are now political actors who are going to use their skills to introduce what

we would regard anti-Semitism into Parliament.

Well, I think that what's distressing, first off, the anti-Semitism is already sort of

in the Parliament because we had a by election a couple months ago where a fellow named George

Galloway who has a history of expressing anti-Semitic or anti-Semitic adjacent views, you know, managed to get himself elected to

Parliament and I think that what's concerning is that England had local

government elections last week.

Usually these are a real snooze because local governments in the UK don't have an awful

lot of power.

You're talking kind of like the neighborhood or the town level here.

But perhaps because of that snooze and the low stakes involved,

you know, Jerry is describing several politicians, often running as independence or members of the Green Party

who have expressed views that could be understood as anti-Semitic or certainly very
