I'm John Bouchard with my colleague David Livingston, Dr. Space of the Space Show.

This is Hotel Mars episode, and we're very delighted to have Simone Marquis of the Southwest

Research Institute who has participated in the imagining designing where

the asteroid killing came from and what it means about it happening again.

But right now I want to give a special budget unlimited to Simone is to advance his researches in planetary

mechanics or whatever he aims to pursue for more information about

asteroids.

Simone, we have a few minutes, spend away.

Right.

That's a very nice view to provide me with unlimited budget, so I should make the best use of it. I think the

most important aspect is to know more about the properties of the asteroids.

There are so many asteroids out there,

and we know very little.

The most information we have from asteroids come from

to mechanisms.

The first one is to analyze the composition in the forms of

meteorites that we collect on Earth. And so these are chunks of asteroids. And so by studying

them in the lab, we can gain more insights.

But the other aspect is in fact to go and explore the asteroids where they live in the main belt.

And so that is where I would like to spend the budget, a limited budget,

building spacecrafts that would allow us to go to these asteroids and lend on them

and perform detailed analysis of their surfaces, their composition, their internal structure.
