and co-host, this is Hotel Mars, but we're in the Moon Earth system and China's plans are in the

immediate future building not only a space station in orbit around the Moon,

Sis Lunar, but perhaps a station in the EML 1, that's the Earth to the Moon

Lagrange point where you're perpetually in the same place with the moon as you

revolve. However, Rick has mentioned three bases minimum built

by China on the surface, one at the south pole, one on the far side of the moon and one at the equator.

Rick, I learned from this conference that was held on September 4 through 6

that there's talk of asteroid

that would be headed in and would spend a very short time making a bad day in

in Paris if it hits the anywhere in the world. However at the same time those bases would have

dual use because if you have kinetic interception of asteroids you have the ability to launch

on Earth or anyone approaching you.

They talk about weapon systems necessary.

You know, there's the Great Wall of Sand in the South China Sea.

Are we looking at the Great Wall of the Moon?

John, this is a very legitimate concern.

From the beginning, the Chinese space program has been dual use.

It's controlled by the People's Liberation Army,

and the People's Liberation Army

has obtained military benefits from China's space program, all the satellites that
