merit to it because both sides act as if the other cannot be talked to.

That's just the point. We're all to compromise, but what we need our use leaven is a constitution that performs its original

function which is to help us compromise.

We had trouble compromising in the 18th century. We have trouble now because we're a diverse population.

Lavin proposes a raft of a raft of reforms. Here's one, for example. He notes that Congress has become in something

different than it was than was originally envisaged. Now how do most of us know Congress

through oversight hearings?
