Boom! And as fast as I could, I start running

and it felt as though I was skating through the air.

That was a familiar sound for me during my high school years.

It represented thoughts that I'd make it to the Olympics someday

and I was as qualified as any 16 year old girl could be.

I was going to wear that medal proudly around my neck and taste the success of the moment.

That is, until everything I love, which was my dream to run, started to

disappear day by day. Out of nowhere I started having these episodes where my heart would start pounding through my chest and I couldn't get my heart rate down.

I eventually started to vomit every day for over a year and a half straight due to an over pounding and irregular heartbeat.

When my health began to fail, a heavy sadness came over me because it was hard to run.

It eventually got so bad that I had to turn down all my full-rise scholarships to college and that was really hard. As I looked down at the

power of scholarships one day, tears ran down my face because of the pain of feeling like a failure and what I hope to be a clear future for me.

When I first shared this story, it came to me suddenly how I lost what I love the most
