Once I took ownership for that, I found out there's a whole world out there of other people who also ended up with alcohol issues in their life.

And therefore, I went to one of those 12-step programs.

After I went into that meeting and I remember the date because it is my sobriety date, it was May 5, 2018, and I haven't had a drink since.

Just the fact that I could show up and be around like-minded, take ownership for my issues,

share honestly about that, getting the sympathy, releasing the guilt with that I didn't need

to drink again.

So it's powerful and it doesn't have to be alcohol.
