Summary

Today we're taking a few questions...

  1. How to overcome the urge to binge eat every meal? The title almost says it all. I can go for hours with no food, but once I start eating it is as if my body says: do it, f’ing do it
  2. Long story short: this is my 4th big weight loss, so far I went from 335 to 219 pounds. My goal is around 135 lbs, so I have a long way to go. On one hand, it’s amazing that after so many failures to maintain the lost weight, I still try lol. And it’s amazing that I’m now 116 pounds lighter. It’s easier to walk, breathe, go up the stairs etc. But sometimes when I look in the mirror, I get so frustrated and upset with how I look. I’m still obese as per BMI (I’m 5’8). And I feel the problem is that there is a disconnect between how my brain thinks I should look after losing 116 pounds and how I look in reality, if that makes sense. On days like this I just want to say to hell with it and stop all efforts and get back to my uncontrollable eating.

Good morning.

How's it going?

0:18.0

It's going good.

0:19.0

We were just having a conversation unexpectedly about some

0:22.2

deep life stuff. Yeah. That was, yeah. Sometimes we just sit down and then we get distracted and we just talk about, you know,

0:33.7

uncertainty. Uncertainty. Nobody likes it. Nobody likes the uncertainty. Especially Maggie.

0:38.5

I hate it. Yeah, right? My biggest issue is giving up control and like trying to know how.

0:43.9

So if you guys think you're alone with like needing to know how this is going to turn out,

0:47.4

needing to go what, know what direction you're going in, need to know what this looks like 10 years from now,

0:52.2

need to know, need to know what this looks like 10 years from now. Need to know, need to know. I don't think you

0:54.3

need to know. I think you're better off just sitting like in, in the, not the comfort, but trying

1:00.6

to get comfortable with knowing that you're in a transitionary phase. Yeah. You know what I mean?

1:05.4

Yeah. It's hard. And we'll do an update, but like I definitely am. And I feel like things are very different and my mind is very different. And like everything is different. And that is kind of, it's good. It's good, but it is, I was thinking the other day, like sometimes good things don't feel good. Sometimes things that are really helpful and useful and and when

1:29.4

things start making more sense, you don't necessarily feel like, oh, like the heavens are

1:34.7

shining a light down on you. You're like, oh, shit. It doesn't, it's good. It's what you want,

1:40.6

but it also can lead to some confusion. So ambiguous. Yeah, that's another podcast,

1:46.9

but I was doing another podcast outline, and that was something that I had written down. It's like,

1:52.5

I see that a lot of the time with weight loss, which again, I'll get into that in a future podcast,

1:55.8

but I see people lose weight and then they freak out. Like, it's not good. It doesn't feel good.

1:59.8

It makes them scared. It makes it,

2:01.4

it triggers like this uncertainty inside of them, this cognitive dissonance about what's for them and what's not.
