joining me. Today the topic is weariness.

I imagine everyone can relate to this sometime.

It doesn't sound like a very uplifting topic,

but I hope by the end you will be encouraged by it.

First, obviously, there is a weariness that is certainly not a sin.

Working hard unto the Lord is the good thing and weariness or exhaustion can simply be the natural result of hard but satisfying work.

Nothing wrong with being exhausted at the end of a long day of taking care of kids or studying for exams or preparing meals or planting a garden or whatever job you may have in or outside the home. If you have exerted yourself to do what God

is called you to do and worked diligently under the Lord weariness is a

creaturely result.

It almost feels good to be tired.

We're not made out of steel.

And this is what God made sleep for.

Isn't that wonderful?

So thank the Lord. This is a grateful and satisfying kind of

weariness. But this is the kind that is not accompanied with an attitude of

I am so sick and tired of doing this. No, that is the kind of

weariness that is not pleasing to God. So consider these verses. Aple of kinds of weariness that we want to avoid.

Proverbs 311, my son,

despise not the chastening of the Lord,

neither be weary of his correction. So the point here would be,

thank the Lord when he corrects you or chastens you for sin. Don't grow weary of it,
