Welcome to the Femina Podcast, this is Nancy Wilson and thanks so much for joining me today.

The topic today is humility and I realize a few minutes is never

enough time to really develop a topic like this but let's do a fly-by anyway.

It's always good to start with some Bible.

Colaions 3.12.

Put on, therefore, as the elect of God,

holy and beloved, vows of mercies, kindness,

humbleness of mind, meekness, long suffering.

Humbleness of mind means that we don't think more highly of ourselves

than we ought. We put others first and we consider them

before ourselves. Now this makes no sense to the unbeliever and apart from

Christ this is impossible just like all the fruit of the spirit.

It is fruit that the spirit gives to those who have been

regenerated in Christ.

It is not something we can crank out on our own.

It is totally by grace. But notice that

humbleness of mind. It means we are to set our mind on humility and you know

our feelings will follow. It's not the other way around.

Notice the company that humbleness of mind keeps,

vows of mercies, kindness, meekness, and long suffering. humbleness of mind is never alone.

It's not an isolated grace.

Romans 1210 says, be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love in honor preferring one another.
