What is going on everyone. Welcome to the fit, healthy, and most of all happy podcast.

0:21.8

I'm your host, Josh, here with your co-host. KG in the house. Co-host? Co-host. Man, we haven't done a funny intro in a while. No, it's been a long time. We just had some good episodes, okay? We've been dropping knowledge, and today is going to be an amazing episode. So we actually label us a real talk uh because we want to have a real talk with a lot of people um you know on why you should

0:27.3

and shouldn't care about your weight um and man this is this episode is long overdue and yeah

0:33.9

this is going to be a tough one um we're going to try to make it you you know, as focused in as we can, so we're not going off on side tangents. But this is such a tough one, right? Weight truly is a double-edged sword because, you know, it's a metric. That's all it really should be. It should just be an indication of something and something we can use to kind of gauge progress, gauge direction, kind of know

0:54.6

what's going on, you know, know what weight class you would fight someone at, things like that.

0:59.2

And it really shouldn't be yourself worth. And that's where a lot of people really do slip up

1:04.2

and where things get really tough. And we're going to get more into that. But, you know,

1:07.8

first and foremost, we really just do want to hit the point that weight is a metric right

1:12.2

yeah all weight is an indication of is how heavy your actual body is right now it's not how beautiful

1:18.0

you are it's not how lean you are it's not how heavy you are it's not it's none of that at all um it really

1:24.5

all it is is just an indication of where you are now.

1:28.1

Now, what I mean by this, when I, you know, first started lifting, I was 160 pounds.

1:33.4

I was kind of lean.

1:34.9

You know, I've probably been leaner at 205, 210 pounds with muscle, right?

1:38.7

It doesn't take an indication how muscular you are, things like that.

1:42.6

And, you know, that's why we're such, we really hate BMI Body Max index. It basically just takes your height and your weight and it says, you know, whether you're fit or whether you're overweight, you know, that's all it does. And a lot of people say, you know, BMI is, it's foolish, right? Because me being six foot one, six foot one and a half, you know, whatever you want to call it,

2:01.9

let's say, let's see, six foot one, I put it in, I put in my weight 210 pounds, and it says I'm

2:07.3

27.7. So underweight would be under 18.5, normal weight would be 18 to 24.5. Overweight would be

2:15.6

25 to 29.9. So apparently I'm overweight and it actually has me in the obesity scale a lot. When I have like six pack abs, I have all these things. And that's because I hold a lot of muscularity. I've always had heavy legs. You know, I've always just been a denser person. I remember I was, you know, always a lot heavier than people, even though I, you know, played a lot of sports and did things. It's just how I was, but once again, that's my point. And even in the past

2:38.0

college, is always a lot heavier than people, even though I, you know, played a lot of sports and did things. It's just how I was.

2:35.2

But once again, that's my point. And even in the past Kyle's been like, I don't want to be 150 pounds. Like, that's light. Like, but the truth is no one's going to come up to you and weigh you. And a lot of people, especially women, will be very ashamed of their weight, you know, especially taller women. Like if you're 5 foot 10 and you're, you know,

2:51.0

190 pounds in an amazing shape, be proud of being 190 pounds, right? Like just your weight doesn't change. If I slipped on the scale, it said 210 and I stepped on it said 100 and I looked the same. I really wouldn't care. Yeah. Um, you know, so you really have to look past that. No, that's a metric. Anything to kind of add there?
