Summary

In this episode, we have a lot of fun talking about how our business began, our background, and how to succeed long-term even when you aren't feeling motivated or fired up. On top of that, we assess a number of different supplements such as cla, carnatine, leucine, fibre, and multivitamins.
Kyle’s quote: “when things are bad, it’s the best time to reinvent yourself” - George Lopez

Josh’s quote: "If people are doubting how far you can go, go so far that you can't hear them anymore." - Michele Ruiz

Questions:

  1. What is your biggest tip to make sure I succeed with the challenge on the days I don’t feel motivated?
  2. Are you guys ever going to talk about how you met/how you became such great friends and business partners/just your backgrounds?
  3. What are your thoughts on cla, l-carnitine & leucine supplementation for fat loss?
  4. Should I be taking a multivitamin? Fibre supplement?
  5. I'm currently running an upper/lower split. One of my uppers has a horizontal push (bench), vertical push (db shoulder press), horizontal pull (pendlay row), and vertical pull (chin ups) and then some bi/tri/shoulder hypertrophy. Question is, in what order would you personally do the first 4 exercises? I have my opinion, I just want to see what yours is. 2 push then 2 pull? Push/pull/push/pull? Or something else? Not stressing over the small stuff, just thought about it during my workout yesterday and thought it'd be fun to ask.

That is another excellent option. Without further ado, let's jump into your quote, Kyle. My quote, I found this on the good old

0:38.7

Google system. It is, when things are bad, it's the best time to reinvent yourself. This is by

0:44.8

George Lopez. And I think, you know, we're still dealing with everything that's going on. And I just

0:50.5

think, you know, especially if you have a lot more time on your hands or whatever your situation is. And maybe if you're like kind of, I know mental health right now is a big aspect because people aren't able to go outside as much or they're not spending as much time outside. And, you know, I understand some people are struggling. I think it's a good time just to like kind of reinvent yourself, like go back to the drawing board of like what you want to achieve this year and um just maybe like kind of uh focus on different habits that you want to bring up

1:15.0

and just like you know um get a new kyle going get a new whatever your name is going and i think

1:20.4

it's just a really good time to do that and uh yeah that's just my quote for the week yeah and that actually

1:25.8

you know i know we're trying to be a little bit more chill and you know go through some thoughts and it's funny you mention that because i've actually been trying to work personally on making myself you know a lot more uncomfortable and being comfortable being uncomfortable and you know i figure if i can go out of my way to you know not not like in a ridiculous component but if i can go to my way toience myself, it's only going to make me better, you know, like doing the things I don't want to do, taking the harder route, like it's kind of a fun little challenge I made for myself. And like a small example could be, you know, like if, you know, we're taking turns, changing weights and like let's say someone's doing something, just going and changing them all myself or like something like that, you know, little different things where I can kind of learn to embrace the soccer, you know, just doing those things that are hard and not necessarily teaching myself to take shortcuts, but just to work on being, you know, super mentally strong at any given moment because I don't know, I just feel like that's a

2:17.9

huge superpower you can have, especially if you're, you know, comfortable not being overly comfortable. I love it, man. Yeah, just like, you're, you know, you said it so perfectly. It's, you know, just this whole, you know, stepping out of your comfort zone is just like we always go back to it. but it's just like, I feel like, you know, after people here so many times, they're like,

2:35.7

I'm going to do this.

2:36.5

And, you know, after people

2:34.4

hear us so many times, they're like, I'm going to do this. And, you know, we'll talk about this

2:37.8

in our client shout out. It's really cool. But yeah, I think that's, that's just what's resonating with me the most. And you had some good points there. Yeah. And like, like we said at the started this COVID, you know, I mean, not to toot my own horn too much, but I'm pretty proud of how

2:51.0

I responded to it you know

2:52.0

at first i felt just the same i felt like i was freezing up i'm like oh you know i just play xbox do whatever

2:57.2

chill but instead you know i tried to really flip that narrative and i've doubled down like i've been

3:01.9

trying to spend like 30 minutes meditating in the morning i've been trying to move in the morning i've been

3:06.6

trying to you know do all my work do all these things listen to 30 minutes of a the morning. I've been trying to move in the morning. I've been trying to, you know, do all my work, do all these things, listen to 30 minutes of a podcast or minutes of an audiobook on the way home. Like, I mean, ultra consistent with these little things. I mean, trying to train harder and because of COVID, you know, and learn more and do all these great things. And, you know, just now, like recently this week, I was like, man, like all these small little things I've been doing or I tried to implement have really, you know, kind of been taking two, which is awesome. And once again, even with myself, I can fall in the trap of, you know, wanting to see something happen, setting a goal, doing the work for a week and then going, I don't see results yet, so I'll quit. And, you know, this is the biggest thing with fitness, right? Obviously, consistency is your biggest friend, but by doing positive things,

3:44.8

they will, you know, stack up and you will reap the benefits eventually, as long as you can

3:49.1

stay consistent and really pour yourself into them. Yeah, even this challenge has been so cool.

3:56.0

Like we mentioned we've been, you know, wanting to do a group like this for like many years. And it's just it's one of those things where we've, we've, especially we have more time. We're like, we are going to absolutely crush it. And like this group is so cool. I mean, I, I just, I'm so happy with it. It's one of those things that like when you're half in and half out, like for your fitness journey, for like one of the projects you're working on for anything at all, um, you're just going to get really crappy results. But like we went in like like 100% for this. There's 88 cool members in here. And you'd actually think there's probably about a thousand based off of like the interaction and just like how positive and awesome it is and it's just kind of something that you know we've always been a fan of and

4:34.9

but at the same time it's something that you always have to remind yourself like when you're doing
