posted on Fridays. Friday, yeah. What an awesome day to give you something to think about watch for or to do.

To finish your week strong and maximize your weekend, I will also include an occasional red zone rant, but not today.

Here's the topic. Rejoice with those who rejoice. I'm talking about being happy for someone else when something good happens to them,

when they tell you some good news. Let them have their moment. So often we want to bring them down

to where we're at. Listen, if you need to give advice or a warning, do it later after they're

rejoicing. Too often, we're too quick to be the voice of caution or the voice of reason, and we steal the joy of another. Do you like it when someone does that to you? Then don't do it to others. Here's some examples. Somebody says, I just got my raise. Well, the last time that happened to me, I was fired the next month, you know, good luck. Or something like this. Oh, now they really own you. Wait till you see how the work piles on. That's nonsense. How about something like congratulations? You worked hard. You earned it. I'm really happy for you. Or something like this. Hey, I made the team. And then some joy robber will say something like, yeah, but good luck any minutes. You're going to waste a lot of time

and practice just to cheer from the bench. What nonsense, let's just suck the air right out of somebody's

life. Or maybe a friend tells you this, oh, I met this great person on my last date. And then

the voice of caution comes in. Yeah, but remember the last time he turned out to be a real loser.

Make sure he's not living in mom's basement this time.

I just don't want you to get your hopes up.

I'm just trying to be helpful and all this other nonsense.

By the way, everything you said or I said during these potential scenarios with the wrong reply might be true.

But the timing is terrible.

Be happy for them.

Rejoice with those who rejoice.

Don't, yeah, butt them out of their joyful state.

Any advice should come later in a separate conversation.

Don't steal the joy in the moment.
