This week marks the beginning of a new initiative and a new series on the podcast that is dedicated

to our fellow MCU fans. It is called What Brought You to the MCU.

I'm very fortunate to have a platform where I can explore and share my journey as a

fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe,

and now I'm going to use this space

to amplify new voices and help fellow fans tell their stories.

There's no such thing, in my view,

as a real or true fan a fan is a fan and all of our journeys are

valid regardless of whether our Marvel fandom predates the MCU or we were

inspired to join the fun by Iron Man, Avengers End Game, or any film in between,

and the journeys of those who find the MCU in phase four and beyond will be equally valid.

What matters is that we are a community who share a common love

for a set of entertaining and inspiring stories. I've been planning this series for a

little while now. This is probably not the first time you've heard me mention it and ever since I announced my plans for this series I have received so many terrific stories of how people became fans of the MCU in so many different ways and I'm never

going to be able to share all of them but I am excited to be able to share many of

them over the weeks and months to come and who knows maybe it'll even be for years to come.

In the first episode of this series we are going to discover what brought Maya to the
