Hi, this is Steve. I am often reminded at this time of year of the phrase the best laid

schemes of mice and men, which comes of course from the Robert Burns poem to a mouse.

Now I won't bother trying to pronounce the original Scottish, but the English translation

of the seventh stanza reads,

But mouse, you are not alone, improving foresight may be vain. The best-laid schemes of mice and men go often

askew and leave us nothing but grief and pain for promised joy. Our goal in cinnophiles was to deliver a nice holiday treat and plenty of time for your various

celebrations. We've done our research, made arrangements with our guests, the biggest Christmas

vacation fan I know, animation executive Michael Ross, and were all ready

for what we were certain would be a fantastic recording.

Then, like the titular character and Burns' poem, our best laid schemes went irreparably

askew. Now I was the first to fall to that stomach virus and unfortunately not the

last. We scrambled a bit to reschedule for that week, but between jobs, holiday parties, and

travel plans it simply wasn't meant to be. And you know what? There's something

strangely fitting about unforeseen disasters thwarting an episode about what is arguably the biggest Christmas disaster movie in the history of film.

Although Die Hard certainly gives it a run for the money.

So we've rescheduled our recording of

Christmas vacation to this coming Thursday and barring any future
