| 0:00.0 | Hi, this is Steve. Almost 40 years ago, on December 7th, 1979, I lined up outside the |
| 0:08.0 | Cinema 1 in Larksburg, California, with my entire family to see Star Trek the motion picture. |
| 0:14.0 | I can remember that the line was long looping out into the parking lot near the freeway |
| 0:18.8 | and that we waited for what seemed to my 11 year old brain, like forever. |
| 0:24.0 | I remember sitting in the theater barely able to contain myself |
| 0:27.0 | as I counted seconds on my black and white time X. |
| 0:31.0 | This was, without a doubt, the most important movie premiere since I watched |

| 1:06.2 | I mean, I've never felt the need to dress up as a Klingon or Pharingey. |
| 1:09.0 | I haven't read every novel, and there are plenty of folks who can beat me at Star Trek Turvia. |
| 1:13.8 | But in terms of the way I look at the world, in terms of core values, Star Trek runs deep, |
| 1:19.2 | very deep. |
| 1:20.5 | And the reality is, Star Trek The Motion Picture might be flawed as a film, but it is important. |
| 1:25.0 | In fact, the more I think about this movie and its place in history, the more important it becomes. |
| 1:30.0 | Now, we couldn't possibly discuss a Star Trek movie without one of our favorite guests, |
| 1:34.5 | Star Trek expert and fellow Cinephile Scott Mansse who made his first appearance on our show |
