0:00.0 | Hey guys, this is Joy. |
0:21.0 | And this is Claire. And this is Claire. |
0:22.1 | And it's still February. |
0:25.3 | We are recording this way in advance. |
0:27.8 | Well, not way in advance, but like, it's weird to record on the day that an episode |
0:31.5 | dropped because we're kind of like, I'm still in the mindset of that episode. |
0:35.2 | But we're recording early because we're kind of like backlogging some episodes while you go to Mexico. Yeah, I'm really excited. I'm going to go to Mexico to a surfing again. I'm not sure which one all of these will come out first, but by the time you hear this, I will either be in Mexico or just a few days away. So for this episode, we are going to just be doing some random Q&A. We haven't done this in a while. I love doing these episodes. So we asked you guys on Instagram for some questions that you wanted answered. And the first one I want to start with is, what should I make for dinner? I hope all of you listening have asked yourself that question today because we're about to answer it for you. What's your favorite go-to dinner when you're like, what the heck did I make for dinner tonight? I mean, I usually order from vital roots. I don't like make dinner. Yeah, that's true. It's not like a quick, quick throwing together. No, there's no quick throwing of anything. Land in the chat says potato leak soup. That sounds delicious. Okay, so we have one vote for takeout. If you need validation on getting takeout, there it is. We have one vote for potato leak soup, which sounds amazing. My go-to for a quick dinner when I, like, really don't want to cook is ground beef, any sort of like a pack of frozen stir-fried veggies or a cup, like a head of big head of broccoli and a pot of rice and um this like Japanese barbecue sauce that is Japanese barbecue |
1:50.0 | sauce what is that stuff called do you know what I'm talking about? I posted about |
1:52.6 | the other day. Yeah, Japanese barbecue sauce. It's from I don't, Bacons B-H-B-A-C-H-A-N-S. |
1:59.2 | It's so good. It's like this very sweet. |
2:01.1 | Look at Lynn coming in with the name. Okonomiaki sauce. I don't know. This is just called Japanese barbecue sauce. They, they, uh, wringowed it up for us. It's like almost like a terriaki sauce flavor. You can get it at the, any store you go to. It's really, really, really good. Or just soy sauce. That's kind of my go-to. It's just like really super quick. Or if I also somehow in our house, you know the like the concept of safe foods for kids, like the food that like kids will just always eat no matter what. Somehow I have convinced my kids to have salmon be one of their safe foods. Like both of them will just always eat salmon. I don't think that's really shocking because you're like that's so normalized in your right. We've always eaten it. But like they don't eat like meatballs. Like it's kids are so random. You could be feeding them something from the day they're born and then one day they're going to wake up and be like I hate this. Yeah. But they both like salmon. So that's our other like quick and easy go to meal is just baked salmon. My tip for salmon to not overcook it is to start it in a cold oven and then heat it up to like |
2:56.7 | 375 and then the total cooking temperature or cooking time in that scenario is maybe like 30 minutes. |
3:02.6 | But a lot of that time is before the oven's fully heated up. That's my hot tip. |
3:06.7 | I agree with Becca, actually. Becca says when I don't want to cook, I just make eggs and toast. That is actually exactly what I would do. If I was like in a pinch, I just listened to the Busy Phillips is doing her best podcast episode this week. And they were talking a lot about like the foods that you go to when you're like serving you don't have anything around and this is more like for one person but she was talking about |
3:28.8 | the extra large bag of tortilla trips tortilla trips at Costco the kirklin brand that's like huge |
3:35.4 | she's like i can't tell you how many times that Costco bag of tortilla trips has saved me and then |
3:40.4 | she's like, |
3:41.2 | craft singles cheese and she like just makes herself nachos, which is so funny to me. |
3:45.8 | And then everybody in like the private Facebook page of that podcast was like, |
3:49.9 | same about the chips. Like, and I literally, I buy, it lasts forever. I feel like it's just |
3:55.3 | a bottomless bag of chips. I eat them like throughout the day where I'm just like, okay, I need a quick something, |
4:00.3 | but I'm not, I don't have time to make like a full on snack. |
