What seems to be happening to me is that not only do they get all the gold but they get all the bloody unearned moral virtue because now they have the gold and they think, well, I'm going to atone for my sins by what by standing forward for equity now that I've made a fortune and by what trying to save the planet by decarbonizing it despite the fact that my industries at least in principle by my own standards contributed to that it's not even their money.

It's the money of everyday citizens in that democratic society which has been aggregated in the hands of these small institutions that are using the money of other people to advance social and political agendas through the market that most of the owners of capital actually disagree with this is an in certain sense there's a large scale breach of trust here.

Welcome to episode 160 of my podcast. I'm Michaela Peterson. I had my dad Jordan Peterson and Vivek Ramaswamy on for this episode. I heard about Vivek through a mutual friend because of his book Woke Inc where he talked about ESGs. He's on today to discuss ESGs and his new book which is out now linked in show notes called Nation of Victims. ESGs are something that everyone should know about. When I was opening for Dad's shows, I was actually,

talking about them because I think it's one of the most important topics that people should be discussing now. It's an acronym that discusses how people who have control over companies like BlackRock are influencing policies that are contributing to issues like massive energy shortages. This is really serious. We trust companies to do what's in a company's best interest.

You can trust that the CEO of a corporation is going to be greedy to make his company worth more. That's at least trust worthy. What you can't trust are CEOs who are not elected banding together deciding they know what direction society needs to take then influencing how companies operate in order to push society in that direction.

And the worst part is most people don't know this is happening or what the outcomes are. This kind of setup is not how America was built. It's not even capitalism really.
