Lily Greer is a victim advocate and survivor from Australia. Her mother's life was stolen by her former partner in 2012 when Lily was just 13. Since then, Lily has never stopped searching for

and advocating for her mom, Tina,

The willing to share it with us today. Hi, my name is Lily. I am 24 years old and I am from Australia. I asked my partner how he would describe me. The two things he said were determined and busy, which I would agree with.

I would add to that by saying resilient.

My mum and I had an extremely close relationship that's probably not as conventional as most people's childhoods. It was very complicated, but we

were very close. That was the main thread that shines through when I think about it. The back

part of this story is that she actually didn't have custody of me for about six years. I was in

custody of somebody else. During that time, we really

fostered a relationship through writing letters to one another. She snucked me a secret phone,

so we would talk to each other that way, and we were each other's lifeline. Also, me to my mom,
