Summary

This week’s guest on Under The Skin is the rather incredible meta modern journalist and political analyst Seth Ambramson! Seth is an American professor, attorney, author, and political columnist. His teaching areas include digital journalism, post-internet cultural theory, post-internet writing, and legal advocacy. He has written several books including Proof of Corruption: Bribery, Impeachment, and Pandemic in the Age of Trump (2020) and Proof of Conspiracy: How Trump's International Collusion Is Threatening American Democracy (2019). We we drill down into why the political landscape is the way it is, if Donald Trump is the problem or actually just a symptom and how postmodernism created a culture of hopelessness! Seth proposes the benefits of the metamodernist approach and explains how the most rebellious amongst us aren’t those reliving the punk attitudes of the 70s but the people who are putting themselves out there, seemingly uncool and and being mocked for their efforts to create change. Enjoy! MORE INFO Seth’s new book Proof of Corruption is available now: https://us.macmillan.com/books/9781250273000 Proof of Corruption concludes a series that includes 2018's Proof of Collusion and 2019's Proof of Conspiracy. 0:32.3

the flag for, well, you know, tough on Trump, tough on the causes of Trump, you know, saying what's

0:36.4

the point? And in effect, we got to the point we were saying that you could take Trump out of this

0:41.6

whole problem and the problem would be almost the same. What's the point of fetishizing Trump?

0:47.3

Anyway, let's get some comments from Kate Nelson before we crack on with Seth Abramson, who

Adam's got all the, Jen, did you just then tug a great lot of Flem down your throat? I heard a

is lately. I'm not redirecting the Flem. I've got no Flem to redirect. Listen, listen to this

back. There was no Flem. It was a, that's just natural sweet swallowing. But that's just sweet lady

1:33.8

Swallow singing her song, singing her siren song. Look, Jen's got a Flem. No, you were diagnosed by an

1:43.0

acupuncturist as being Flem. That acupuncturist has been under a lot of pressure. There's a misdiagnosis.

1:50.4

She was kind enough to admit that. Excuse me, I just got a swallowing. Some Flem size of tennis
