John consults as an expert in litigation involving the pharmaceutical industry and has served as an unpaid consultant to the FBI and Department of Justice. He teaches health policy at Harvard University and has incredible insight and knowledge about how the medical and pharmaceutical industry works. In this conversation he gives examples of litigations against pharma companies, the marketing plans they come up with to push certain drugs, and how the entire medical Industry—from academic peer reviewed studies to our local family doctors--is intrinsically linked to these commercial entities. She is the author of three books, each of which signaled the start of a new epoch in technological society. Her most recent book, The Age of Surveillance Capitalism, has been called “the Das Kapital of the 21st Century.” You may recognise Prof. Zuboff from the Netflix documentary The Social Dilemma, which highlighted how nefarious and powerful big tech companies like Facebook and Google really are. We are now in The Age of Surveillance Capitalism, and it is worse than you think.
