And I would want to leave the puppy wanting more. I do want to make sure that the puppy is building

positive associations with novelty, whether the novelty is a new environment, a new toy. I want to

make sure that the puppy views the world as things that I put there for him.

So we could play training games instead of things that might be scary and overwhelming.

to this podcast, you've almost certainly been exposed to concepts around socializing puppies.

And on one level, it can seem pretty straightforward on what else is there to talk about it.

But you probably also know that and are probably very, very aware that despite the fact

that socialization is not at all a new idea at this point,

still,

still,

much of the doggowning world is doing it wrong or not at all.

I find that a little bit mind-blowing.

It is 2021 if you subscribe to the cultural fog that is time and years and whatnot.

And we're still, still hearing and seeing and encountering under or poorly socialized puppies out, out in the real world. So we still

have work to do. What can we do about it? Okay, we're going to talk about that with a couple of
