Summary

I got a lot of feedback from episode 3 when we talked about “having bad days with food”. There is no such thing! What you eat does not define who you are or what kind of person you are. If you haven’t listened to episode 3 you should pop on over and listen. To kind of tie in with episode 3 we are going to talk about sugar and cravings. I am going to give you some tips and tools to fight back against those sugar cravings! A lot of people believe that they eat lots of sugar because they have no willpower. This is wrong! It is not about willpower. If you have had sugar recently or eat it frequently then you will crave that sugar.  So let’s talk about some less challenging ways to get rid of those sugar cravings. We are going to talk about: “Pro pros” aka protein and produce—don’t give that junk food room in your diet! Blood sugar break down—You want a slower breakdown of sugar so you can feel fuller longer Crowding out vs quitting—quitting can sometimes make your cravings stronger! Produce = more energy The key to making sane choices—eating lots of protein or produce for your first meal of the day. (Hangry isn’t pretty on anyone) Bulk up your meals—Using greens and veggies is a fantastic way to pump your meal up Chop that stuff up! — nobody likes to see the stem of your spinach hanging out of your mouth while you are talking Links Mentioned: If you love the show, it would mean so much if you would leave us a review in iTunes. and other passionate, dedicated moms, the tools you need to bridge the gap between motherhood

0:16.0

and living the life of your dreams. I'm also here to help you be a little more shameless every day,

0:21.5

because if you aren't building a life, you're extraordinarily proud of, what kind of legacy

0:25.5

are you building? So let's dive in. Okay, so today we're going to be talking a little bit

0:31.5

about sugar and cravings. I got a ton of feedback on episode three. So episode three was all about how to stop having bad food days.

0:41.7

And so in that episode, we talked about at the end of the day, women especially tend to

0:45.6

quantify their day in terms of, oh, like I had X amount of sugar today.

0:49.3

So today was a bad day.

0:50.8

Or like, oh, I only ate kale and vegetables.

0:53.1

So today was a good day.

0:55.2

And we wrap our whole identity over time. Our whole identity becomes this like, oh, I only ate kale and vegetables, which day was a good day. And we wrap our whole identity over time. Our whole identity becomes this like vicious cycle of whether or not

0:59.6

we ate good or bad foods. And then that can turn over into how we value ourselves. Like if I had a

1:04.7

bad day with food because I ate cupcakes and ice cream, then I might also be a bad person,

1:08.7

which is just this really horrific mental cycle.

1:11.1

So if you want to hear more about that, jump on over to episode three after you listen to

1:15.6

today's episode, because it was the episode that I've gotten probably the most comments on so

1:19.5

far and the most texts and emails and messages of, oh my gosh, I'm sitting here listening to

1:24.1

this.

1:24.3

I'm crying because this is exactly how I talk to myself.

1:27.2

I beat myself up over feeling like I'm eating bad foods or eating too much sugar or just not making

1:32.8

healthy lifestyle choices. So today I want to give you the opposite of that. I want to give you
