0:14.1	I am your host, David Scales, bringing you an episode of Surf News for January 11th, 2017.
0:21.3	It's actually our first show of 2017.
0:24.3	So, happy New Year.
0:25.7	Huge news, well, I don't know, huge, but news broke today just after Scott and I got finished
0:32.0	recording our conversation.
0:34.4	And that is that Paul Speaker of the WSL, the CEO for the WSL is actually stepping down from his position.
0:42.7	The WSL is owned by a company called Zo Z, and Zosie is owned by a guy named Dirk Zift.
0:50.3	So he's the money behind the purchase of the WSL and all the reformation and changes that they've had in the recent years.
0:58.1	So Dirk Ziff is going to actually operate as the interim CEO until they hire somebody.
1:02.9	I guess they're currently looking.
1:05.0	But Paul Speaker does have shared ownership in the WSL.
1:09.5	So he's going to retain that ownership percentage.
1:13.7	I'm not sure.
1:14.2	I have no idea how that, what the agreement is.
1:17.2	But he's going to retain his ownership position.
1:20.2	He will just be stepping down as CEO.
1:22.3	So that's the fresh news.
