On the HEAL BLOG this week The Facts About Complex Trauma
How does the enneagram help you discover your true self? I am chatting with Samantha Mackay, Enneagram Coach, who says your personality is actually a defence mechanism that is hiding your true self. You are not your personality. Your personality is a psychological structure designed to keep all the trauma and wounds hidden and protected from view. As a child this is an important survival strategy. As an adult we have the capacity to function differently, however we have forgotten that we are using these survival strategies because it has become our normal. The enneagram tells us which survival strategies we are using so that we can break through these survival strategies, find our true selves and live as our true selves.
