Welcome to the perfume room. My scent of the day today is a layering combo that I just discovered, which we will get to in a second. But to get there, we should go back a few steps.

Back to this past Saturday night. So on Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending

Marissa Zappas's bottle redesign launch party at Stell. And can I just say how much I love her redesign?

It feels so intrinsically, Marissa. It's so darling. It's so reverent

to all things she loves. And come on, I mean, if I'm giving you my personal opinion,

you know how I feel about a ball cap. This is a gold one. It is a fluted glass bottle with a

black bow. I love the new logo. I love the rebrand.

I adore Marissa. I adore her perfumes. And I am so happy that her fragrances have found their

forever homes. Marissa, congrats to you. Anyway, I had so much fun at this event. I saw so many

familiar faces. I met so many new ones. If you are listening to this right now and you are one of them, hey, loved meeting you. And at the end of the evening, as I was headed out, Jake intercepted me and handed me a bag, you know, had the still logo on it. I'm like, something good is in here. And then as soon as I lifted it up, he had sprayed it with what I knew was coming.

And Jake generously gifted me, Jake, I could cry just talking about this.

Jake gifted me a bottle of Neanderthal Vem, which if you listen to Jake and Matt's episode on

perfume room, that was the orest scent that I was waxing poetic about.

And that was a scent that in everything

I smelled, in my first visit to Stel, just like really rose to the top and was really special

for me. And when I tell you about this scent, you will obviously know why. I love it so much.

And it is because it is the waxiest orris of them all and also the weirdest. It is the

waxy, rudy, caroty, make-upy, tried and true kind of oris you know and love with that kind

of texture that makes you want to like squeeze a slightly cold stick of butter. You know what I'm

talking about?

It's buttery. I love it. But then this particular fragrance, them, also has a sort of like

inky and suede kind of nuance. And it also feels ambergris and oceany and seashore. I cannot get enough of this. And this is not a safe blind buy.
