The We are so glad to be with you today, and we're excited about sharing a bit of our ministry,

but also just preaching the scriptures this morning and just lifting up the gospel.

I lead, along with Dr. Stephen Boyce, a ministry called Explore Christianity.

We're going to have a question and answer time.

So in that time, I'm going to give a little bit more of kind of what we do, what we're seeking

to do in the future.

But just for time's sake, we're just going to jump right into

Scripture. So I want to invite you to take your Bible, turn to 1st Peter, chapter 3, 1st Peter

chapter 3. And I've been assigned with the topic, the gospel defended. And if you know First Peter,

and if you have any understanding or done any reading

and apologetics, you probably already know what passages I'm going to.

Probably know what verse.

You probably even know the phrase.

There's a phrase that goes, something like,

depending on your translation,

is something along the lines of be prepared to make a defense.

It's a call to every believer to actually be prepared to defend the gospel, not just, you know, these well-educated philosophers or just Christian theologians and pastors, but all Christians are called to be a

part of this activity of making a defense. So I want to zero in on this particular admonition.

But before I do, I just want to say that this, this is the only place in the Bible where we're

instructed to give a defense like for instance Jude

the first chapter verse 3 it says that we should earnestly contend for the faith
