Welcome back to part two of the Daryl Hunt episode.

We are diving again into this episode because the story's not over.

Yeah, and the last one had enough in it, but it just keeps going.

So that is what we are here to talk about tonight.

Real quick, we're going to do a recap just to refresh everyone's memory.

Essentially, what we had is Debbie Sykes arrives at work.

She parks about two blocks from her office. She never arrives at work. Later in the day, a man

comes across a body. Unfortunately, it was Debbie. Someone saw the assault, made a 911 call. His name was

Johnny Gray, but he used the name Sammy Mitchell. That's how the investigation started.

They brought in someone actually named Sammy Mitchell, who had a friend named Daryl Hunt,

things snowball from there, lots of shoddy investigative work, lots of kind of making the narrative

fit what they wanted it to be. Daryl Hint is tried, he's convicted, then he files an appeal

because his girlfriend's testimony was used, but she actually recanted the testimony, they gave him

a new trial. He's convicted

yet again. He gets a new lawyer. They run some DNA, find out who actually was at the scene, and that man

confesses. His name was Willard Brown. He goes to prison and Daryl is out. So hey, everything's great, right? Well,

tonight we are here with Part 2 for a reason. So let's go back to September 17, 1983. This was the

year before Debbie Sykes was murdered. Arthur Wilson, he's 57, bought drinks for everyone at the drink house in Winston-Salem.

Now this is an illegal in-home bar.
