This week's episode, we continue our series in Delayed Justice.

Yeah, so I hope you guys enjoyed the first one.

I enjoyed is certainly the wrong word for this series,

but again, y'all know what we mean.

It's just an interesting topic to discuss how one actually ends up saying they did something

that they didn't, which if you stay tuned till the end of the episode,

our question for the night has to do with that. And we've gotten some really interesting

responses. But with that said, we are going to go ahead and jump into the second episode. This

one is interesting because it's kind of a two-for-one wrongful conviction story.

It involves two rapes, two murders of two little girls, and two men who were tried separately and both were convicted.

The rape and the murders were identical in M.O. and victimology.

Only with the help of the Innocence Project was the true killer convicted, and the two men were exonerated.

Fair warning, this does involve children, so if that is something that upsets you, please feel free to skip this episode or skip those details, but it does involve young children.

So we're going to go ahead and get started.

The first part of this story is the story of Courtney Smith.

She was a three-year-old little girl living with her mom and two sisters.

So her sisters, she had a one-year-old sister and a six-year-old sister. Ashley was the six-year-old

sister, and they shared a bedroom in a small house in Brooksville, Mississippi. Her uncle

slipped in the room next to the little girl's bedroom, and sometime in the late hours of the night on September 15th of 1990, she was abducted from her home.
