We have something amazing for you guys tonight.

We have a new series.

Yes, indeed.

So we had discussed how we were starting the new series about wrongful convictions.

And so we are going to jump into that tonight.

So this series is going to be called Delayed Justice.

So for this episode, we have a story that will infuriate you as it has infuriated us.

But the whole series itself, and I'm sure you guys know, but, you know, fair warning going into it,

that there is a lot of shoddy police work, a lot of just unfair circumstances, and it is a very infuriating series. It's going to be.

We already have researched several, so just know that going into it. But this first story

that we're going to bring you is the story of the Dixmore Five. Our episode begins. On November 19th,

1991, 14-year-old Katrina Mathews left her grandmother's house in Dixmore, Illinois, to return home. But she never arrived. She usually walked with her best friend home and then went to her grandmother's house after school and took the bus home in the evenings where her

mother was usually there.

Katrina called her mother to let her know that she was leaving.

But not after arriving on the bus, she expected her to return on.

She waited for the next bus, but her daughter wasn't on board.

So immediately her mother calls the police, reported her daughter missing.

And of course, they said she was just a runaway.
