Welcome to the daily meditation podcast. I'm Mary Meckley and I'm a meditation teacher who shares a different meditation technique every day on the podcast and each technique is customized around a weekly theme.

So in each episode you're going to be guided in a meditation to help you slow down, especially

when they meditate, whether you're a beginning meditator or a long-time meditator.

In fact, it's one of the biggest challenges people experience when they meditate.

And so you'll be learning meditation techniques, a new one each day,

to help you slow down and to allow your thoughts to settle so you can focus on what's most important to you and just enjoy your day-to-day life.

So I'm going to guide you now in a meditation to help you slow down.

Go ahead and get nice and settled in your meditation space.

Sit up straight, straighten your spine.

Relax your body in area. straighten your spine.

Relax your body in areas where you're likely to hold tension. And you might want to prop up a few pillows under your legs and especially if you're seated on the floor.

This will help to cushion the pressure points in your body.

If you're seated in a chair or on the end of your bed, then make sure your feet are flat on the floor.

This is going to support your back even more.
