| 0:00.0 | Hello, this is Jen Rubin, and this is Jen Rubin's Green Room. |
| 0:15.0 | On Monday in Fulton County, Georgia, as you probably know, listening to this, Fawney Willis, who is the |
| 0:22.6 | district attorney, indicted Donald Trump and 18 other defendants on a total of 41 counts, ranging |
| 0:30.2 | from RICO, that's the racketeering statute, to perjury, to making false statements, to soliciting a official to do something contrary to his |
| 0:41.9 | oath. It is a sprawling 98-page document, and it contains things that I think we should talk about |
| 0:51.3 | that we haven't yet seen in the other indictments. And when you say in the |
| 0:56.7 | other indictments, we shouldn't take that lightly. This shouldn't become commonplace that we now |
| 1:01.7 | have four serious indictments in four different jurisdictions against Trump and his cronies. |
| 1:09.1 | But this one is different. And I think it's important to underscore, |
| 1:13.5 | first of all, why we need it. After all, isn't Jack Smith on the case? He's in Florida, he's in |
| 1:19.5 | D.C. Why do we need a state prosecutor to be attacking this? And the answer lies in the indictment itself. These are very serious, |
| 1:31.7 | thuggish crimes by a lot of people. It wasn't just Trump who was trying to break into machinery |
| 1:38.9 | that counts the votes. It wasn't just Trump who was soliciting people or intimidating people. |
| 1:43.8 | There was a whole mob of them. |
| 1:46.1 | There was a crime spree. And this cadre of people cannot be allowed to simply walk free because |
| 1:52.9 | it's too inconvenient or it makes too much of a fuss or the case is too big or the case is too |
| 1:57.6 | small. This is a crime spree. And just like this prosecutor has brought other |
| 2:02.8 | RICO cases, I think 11 of them, she's obligated. It's part of her job. It's part of her oath to |
| 2:09.0 | enforce Georgia law. So she's got to prosecute people who do these sorts of things in her |
| 2:14.8 | jurisdiction. And if you're going to prosecute them, are we suddenly |
| 2:18.4 | going to say, well, everyone except Trump? That would be bizarre. That would be letting the kingpin go. |
| 2:24.8 | And that's what's at the heart of this. This guys is what the rule of law looks like. It means |
