Welcome back to our two-part real-life love story. This week we get to talk about the good stuff,

the solution, and looking for addiction recovery. We really dig into what worked for us, how it worked,

why it worked, and how you or someone you love who struggles with addiction can find it too.

Neil and I both really hope that if you're feeling hopeless, either because you struggle with addiction or you're in a relationship with someone who's an addict, that what we share in this interview will help you find hope.

Really the turning point, I mean, even during this time, I was still struggling. I was trying not to, you know, not to act out or engage in the addiction, but it was still a hard time for me.

And I got to a point where I was lying about the addiction. I was, I wasn't, one of the

things that we had worked out in our relationship was that I would be honest with Corinne.

Like, hey, at least just be honest with me when you're engaging in it or if you've had a slip or relapse or something happened with it.

You know, just tell me.

I need to, you know, we we kind of established that as a baseline.

And through a series of events, I mean, honestly, I came to a conclusion.

I'm like, okay, I'm just going to lie about it. I already lied. I don't want to continue to hurt my wife. So if I just keep it from her and then like, I'll get over it and I'll get back on the right track, but she won't. So I'll just not say that I slipped, but then I'll just correct it and get on the right path. And that, and I knew that didn't work for me because I've been trying to do that the whole time. But every time I tried to do that, I couldn't stay sober. I couldn't lie to my wife and stay sober is what I figured out. And I figured out the hard way. So the last time I relapsed, I had been lying for, I don't know how many months. And then she caught me in a lie.

You know, it found something. And basically at that point, like, it kind of just was like, man, I've just burned all bridges here.

Like, I don't have any trust with my wife. She can't believe a word that I say, and I don't blame her for it because I don't deserve her trust.

And I think- Hard relapse from me, too.

And I think for your standpoint, you're just kind of like nothing works.

We've done everything we can think of, and here we are.

Same place.

Yeah.

And I remember just that one hit me hard. There were, there were ones that were

harder than others. But that one really, just for some reason, I just was like, I don't know
