Today we'll be interviewing Holly Black.

She's the author of the best-selling children's book series The Spider-Wyth Chronicles, which were adapted into a major motion picture.

Recently she's been working on a graphic novel series called Good Neighbors, and her new novel

White Cat is set in a contemporary world in which magic has been outlawed, so only outlaws have magic.

So we'll be talking to her about all that, and also...

My precognitive abilities are starting to kick in and I'm getting this weird

premonition like I'm going to mysteriously disappear about 10 minutes into this

interview. Well I hope that it doesn't happen but I mean you've never been wrong before.

Well, if that happens, I'll just be prepared and I'll take over.

No, I mean, I hate to shatter the seamless solution that we work so hard to create here at Geek's

Guide to the Galaxy and this is actually a little bit embarrassing to admit but we

don't actually do this show in one take so actually what we do is record the interviews first and then record So actually

the interviews first and then record everything else later.

So we actually recorded this interview a week or two ago

on a day when the internet basically was a series of tubes.

Or at least that's what you'd think from how slow it was.
