I recently heard from a friend of mine who is feeling nervous about an upcoming trip

and she was wondering if I might have some tips to share about managing travel anxiety

First of all, I thought I'd talk about one of my own earliest experiences

with going on an overseas trip. I was in high school and my teacher organized a school trip to

Malaysia. I think there were maybe 20 or so students going all together, including me, so it was an

awesome little group, but I was so nervous about the whole thing.

In the lead up to the trip, I had this growing sense of dread about what could go wrong.

What if I got motion sick in front of everyone?

What if I missed home too much?

A lot of my fears always revolve around getting bitten by snakes.
