for example, this very episode. My name is Quentin Smith, and I'm joined by Tom Brewster.

Hello, Quintz. Hello, Tom. And today we've got something pretty special that I'm super

excited about, not least because I have to do very little work in this podcast episode.

We're going to be talking about solo RPGs, one player role-playing games, although that's actually kind of not what these games are.

Basically, these games are innovative storytelling experiences for just one person sat on their lonesome. And who is that one person in

this episode? It's Tom. Tom, you've been sat by yourself a lot for the last few weeks,

haven't you? I've been sat in a deprivation tank with nothing but pencils and paper forced to

work and write and think about role-playing games. I find this mind-blowing.

Quite honestly, a year ago before we published your thousand-year-old vampire review, I did not

know anything about one-player RPGs. But of course, in the pandemic, who would have guessed it?

They're now a thriving genre, and people are doing absolutely fascinating things with them.

In this podcast, we're going to be talking about three games, so I'm going to be quizzing

Tom about them anyway.

We're going to be talking about Delve by Anna Blackwell, a game about dwarves tunneling down

and dying a lot.

We're going to be talking about Field Guide to Memory by Gian Shim and Shingion Khor,

a Kickstarter game about, I've got this, part of the presses from Tom,

a game about thinking and walking and doing lots of little drawings of rats.

And finally, we're going to be closing the episode by talking about Alone Among the Stars by Takuma Okada, a game about chilling in space and being very lonely.
