Hi guys, welcome back to Unbreakable Latina.

This is your host, Melina.

The amount of times that I've recorded and re-recorded this intro has been a lot,

so I'm just going to wing it.

And I just want to say that I know all of us are struggling right now.

The world is heavy.

My heart is heavy.

I'm sure your guys is this too. Before heading into my personal story today, I just need to talk about something that's been going on in a lot of places.

But this weekend, it's been happening in L.A. the ice raids have been tearing our communities

apart again it's horrifying it's triggering it's personal it makes me angry

I'm sure it makes a lot of you guys angry of all the people that supported this

those of us who are children of immigrants who've grown up

watching our parents carry fear. I know this podcast is often about just taking a moment to

like personal growth, have personal growth and healing and culture, but this is part of our culture,

but how can we talk about healing without naming the systems that keep harming us?

It is so painful to keep watching the heartbreak in the community and just our friends, our

neighbors, people we love just being taken away for no reason.

Even when people try to do it the right way, it's still not good enough.

My mom was sharing with me that this is how it used to be when they got to this country.

And how my grandma used to have to hide from the migra raids because she worked at those

factories that they targeted this weekend.
